Lewis Hine printed his own negatives, as far as it is known.
Many prints were used to be sent to clients or possible clients and present a number of different stamps and annotations.
At GEH it is common to find working contact prints that were roughly trimmed and present signs of deficient processing.
It is common to find photographs with adhesive or paper labels on the back.
